The Sniffles

Fall is here for sure.  It is dropping below freezing almost every night here in the Burg.  Along with the dropping temperatures comes the inevitable cold and flu season.  I managed to catch it first and tried everything I could to not give it to Katie.  I slept in the guest bedroom, kept my distance when I was home, and washed my hands constantly.  It wasn't enough, Katie ended up catching it anyway.
The horrible thing about getting sick when you are pregnant is that you can't take any cold meds to help with the symptoms.  So while I get to take Nyquil to help me sleep and Musinex to help clear my chest Katie is stuck having to tough her way through it.  To make matters worse yesterday the 11th was Katie's birthday.  What a way to spend your birthday, pregnant and sick.  This morning she says that she is feeling a little better  so hopefully the worst is over.  We are almost there, only ten more weeks.

  1. Please tell Katie she certainly can take cold meds! I consult my SIL (a doctor) during every pregnancy when I get sick. Mucinex is okay, as are some other over-the-counters which you can look up on Google. Don't make that poor girl tough it out with her compromised immune system!
