It has been scorching hot in the Burg for the last three or four days. Katie has been fortunate enough to have some time off and been able to hang out in the AC at home. We did however, take the baby on its first Harley Ride Saturday to Leavenworth with some friends. It was super hot out, and almost overheated the bikes looking for a parking place. Katie stayed cool by staying under the misters at the outside bar and shopping in the stores that all had AC. Katie got the prego munchies and insisted on having a pretzel. After she had that she decided she needed an ice cream cone, that she finished on the back of the bike while we rode to Lake Wenatchee State Park. Katie had a great idea as we passed a campground to stop by the river and cool off. We all took our socks off and stood in the river that was so cold it made your feet ache. Some us were braver than others and opted to dip our whole bodies in. It made for a refreshing ride home in the heat with wet clothes. Katie and I were glad to be back on the bike, it had been awhile since our last ride. Supposedly the baby can hear us talking and making noises now and we are encouraged to talk to it and even sing or read to it. Hopefully it got a chance to hear the thunder pipes on the Harley. It's important to get the baby used to sounds that it will hear when its born. Can't wait to find out whether we are buying a pink Harley shirt or a black one. Katie has not felt the baby move yet but it could be any day now.
