Stupid Adult

Cage has become extremely observant lately.  He watches Katie and I's every move.  He knows what the doorknob is the key to opening the door, but is not quite able to reach it yet.  He knows that the freezer on the fridge can be pulled open, but he can't quite pull hard enough to open it yet.  The gate that blocks the stairs has a tricky locking mechanism that he is not able to unlock yet, but knows what part needs to be operated to gain access to the irresistible ascending playground.
However, he has a solution to all these minor setbacks.  He simply has a stupid adult do it for him. Cage has a new trick where he grabs Katie and I's hand and places it near what he wants operated or moved.  It was really cute at first, but now we have been enslaved to do his bidding.  He has no shame in who he demands help from.  Katie and I recently found Cage a new babysitter and while we were meeting them for the first time, Cage grabbed her husband's hand and led him to the door to the garage and motioned for him to open it.
We have recently taken Cage to a few parks thinking that he would love to play on all the toys.  It turns out that the gravel, wood chips and perimeter of the play area is much more entertaining.  He enjoyed the slides, but quickly lost interest and thought that putting rocks on the slide was much more fun.  Oh well, we got out of the house and got some fresh air and spent some time watching him be really cute.  He has mastered walking and will be running in no time.  He has some molars coming in which I can only imagine is very uncomfortable, but he seems to be toughing it out fairly well.
As a family we are all very busy right now.  Katie and I are extremely slammed at work and in the middle of building our new house.  We have purchased a lot with an amazing view Southeast of Ellensburg.  The well was just drilled and completed last week and we are finalizing on the last few details before we break ground.  It's going to be a wild and crazy summer, but we are looking forward to a new chapter in our lives.
