Rodeo Yee Haw

We survived another Rodeo weekend here in the Burg.  Despite both Katie and Cage VI having really bad colds (thanks grandpa Ken) we actually made it to the fairgrounds.  We trudged through all the animal barns letting Cage get a close up look at some of the furry critters.  He really seemed to like the horses best.  Grandma LoLo brought him a cowboy hat to wear so he looked official for most of the day.  Uncle Chad, aunt Sonia, cousin Rion and Grandma LoLo also hung out for part of the day with us.  Katie scored some VIP rodeo tickets and treated all of us to the VIP sponsor lunch and open bar.  I have to say that watching the rodeo on big screen TVs in air conditioning with a bar ten feet away and free drinks was the only way to go.
Cage's cold unfortunately has drug on into this week and he has also developed a nasty little eye infection.  Katie and I took him to the doctor today and they put him on some antibiotic eye ointment.  Poor kid, it feels like we are torturing him when we have to administer the eye goop.  One of us has to hold his arms down while the other has to hold his head still and pry each eye open one at a time and try to squirt some of this vaseline consistency like gunk in them.  You think two grown adults could hold a 9 month old kid still but he is surprisingly strong.  Hopefully it subsides quickly and the torture sessions will cease.
