This last weekend, our family attended the wedding of Cage's cousin Bryan over in Seattle. We ventured across the mountains on Friday afternoon and checked into the hotel for the weekend along with Chad, Sonia, Rion, Grandma Lorrie and Carl. Cage's Aunt Cary gave us complimentary tickets aboard an Argosy dinner and dancing harbor cruise. Lorrie and Carl attended the rehearsal dinner upstairs while the rest of us stayed in the main dining room where there was a fabulous band playing throughout the evening. The buffet dinner was excellent and the guys took the kiddos for a while so Sonia and I could catch up over a bottle of wine. The weather was beautiful and little Cage did excellent aboard the ship. Cage got to meet his three great-aunts (Cary, Cris, and Cathy) and his second-cousins for the first time as well. I wish I would have gotten a picture of everyone together. I guess when you have a kid, you really need to keep your camera or phone handy at all times because you never know when a photo opp will happen. Hopefully someone else managed to get some pictures and they can send them to me :) and I will then add them here.
Pictures of the guys slow dancing with the kiddos in the middle of the ship...
It was the sweetest thing ever!
On Saturday, we visited the Seattle waterfront and aquarium. Little Cage probably won't remember his experience there, but we had some time to kill and thought it would be fun. We mostly walked around with him attached to Dad with the Baby Bjorn so he could have his arms and legs free and could still look at everything. He seemed to enjoy the colorful fish in the tanks and the sea otters, but his ultimate favorite exhibit was the tubes with bubbles in them (luckily, he is easily entertained).
Cage was definitely over-stimulated after the aquarium and all the crowd of people there and proceeded to pass out. We took the opportunity to have a nice lunch at Dad's favorite restaurant, Ivar's. We then decided to return to the hotel and had a much needed family nap (I guess we were all over-stimulated!)
We then packed into the car again and headed off to the wedding at The Canal on the Ballard locks. The wedding was beautiful and tons of fun. Both Cages behaved themselves very well during the evening with minimal fussiness (again, from both Cages). Unfortunately, I was busy having fun eating, dancing, and drinking that I forgot to take any pictures of the evening.
Congratulations to Bryan and Natalia and thank you for inviting Cage to his first wedding ever!
